Meeting with the Superintendent

Although meeting a vice admiral initially felt daunting, I approached the conversation as a faculty member meeting the Superintendent. The Admiral recalled a philosophy course taught by a naval officer who had preceded me in the same faculty role as the most meaningful course of his years as a midshipman. His recollection left me hoping that the midshipmen I teach might one day remember my classes with similar appreciation. It was a deeply meaningful conversation.
